João Lobão is a lawyer with an established career in Sports Law. He holds a degree in Law from Universidade Católica - Centro Regional do Porto and has gained extensive experience in providing legal support to athletes, clubs, and sports organizations.
Currently, João is a Founding Partner at L&SP, where he leads the Sports Law department. He manages a multidisciplinary team that offers advice and representation on contractual matters, player transfers, and dispute resolution. His practice includes working in courts and arbitration bodies such as the Tribunal Arbitral do Desporto (TAD), FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Before founding L&SP, João held significant positions in various organizations. He served as Legal Advisor at the Sindicato de Jogadores Profissionais de Futebol (SJPF), handling contract negotiations, labor disputes, and ensuring compliance with sports regulations while defending players' rights.
Additionally, João worked at Sporting Clube de Portugal - Futebol SAD, where he was involved in legal matters related to the management and operations of the club. He also has experience with the Assembleia da República, participating in the analysis and drafting of legislation related to sports and other legal areas.
His diverse experience enhances his ability to address complex issues in Sports Law and to operate in various relevant legal and arbitration forums.
